Abbey Gate College has a strong history of excellent drama productions, often with a musical in alternate years. Recent productions include Oliver, Wind in the Willows, a lavish and spectacular performance of My Fair Lady and most recently a moving performance of Oh What a Lovely War.
As many pupils study speech and drama in addition to their timetabled class lessons, the standards achieved in whole school productions are excellent. The intimate setting of the theatre provides a wonderful atmosphere for the audience with a real sense of drama. The annual play can include pupils of all ages, including juniors or it maybe a more adult production with mainly senior students – This creates great diversity and variety.
The Chapel Choir led Evensong at the Abbey to over 600 visitors every evening.
