Christmas Greetings

The very busy Autumn Term has now finally finished and the wonderful Carol Service at Chester Cathedral provided a fitting finale. As always the Choir, led by Stewart Smith were tremendous showing great precision and control and were accompanied on the organ throughout by Old Saightonian and Cathedral Director of Music Philip Rushforth. Indeed it was a lovely evening where pupils past and present met and exchanged news; it always good to see so many friends and supporters, all strengthening the importance of our community at the College.

As the daily doom of “Credit Crunch Christmas” has echoed consistently across the media this year we have tried to emphasise that the true value of Christmas is not spending vast sums of money but rather spending time with family and friends over the festive season. Despite the various ailments that began to take hold in all year groups and the staff rooms, it has been a very successful term with many varied achievements. I hope that all our dedicated staff and hard working pupils take the opportunity to rest and relax this holiday and indeed share quality time with those that they love this Christmas.
