All Junior pupils at Aldford participate in weekly Drama lessons where they work on themes and topics, creating scenes in groups which they perform to each other and other classes. Awareness and confidence in movement and mime is developed via imaginative role play and tolerance is encouraged through team work. Conventions of drama and theatricality are experienced through full scale performances. Pupils participate in whole school concerts or musical plays throughout the year and they represent the school yearly in the Chester Speech and Drama Festival, with great success.
Drama activities in the Infant Department are integrated into cross curricular themes and topics such as learning about the Great Fire of London via a music/drama approach based of Samuel Pepys Diary, and every Christmas they participate in the Nativity Story at ot local Aldford Church.
