Music

Music adds a further dimension to the broader Curriculum offered at Aldford School. In the Infants it is fun and creative with lots of practical activities such as singing, rhythm work and instrument use.

In the Junior Department we build on this by adding learning to play the recorder in Years 3 & 4, and the option of peripatetic instrumental lessons. This talent is nurtured and rewarded by regular musical events where individuals and/or groups are encouraged to participate and showcase their talents

Junior lessons are held at Saighton Grange, offering the pupils the use of the wider ranging instruments and technology available there.

Aldford School has a thriving school Choir, a committed Belle Plate ensemble and a small orchestra. All these groups play at local events such as the annual People to People Concert, the Gold and Silver celebrations in the village and with the whole College at Chester Cathedral twice a year.

A musical Nativity is performed every Christmas, with Junior pupils taking part in musical plays at various times throughout the school year.
