Aldford School have a very active and highly supportive Social Committee whose main aims are to welcome and involve new families when they arrive and to organise events to promote fundraising, further community spirit and have fun!
The Committee comprises of about ten parents led by the Chairperson, the Secretary and Treasurer. They meet at least twice a term. Members volunteer to serve from one year to the next though many stay for much longer.
A great many events are organised for the benefit of children and parents alike. These include the Christmas Fair, the Summer Ball, the Easter Egg hunt, as well their involvement in school activities such as lending a hand on Open Days and Parents Evenings and Sports Day.
Money raised is given to the School and in the past they have provided funds for our Nature Reserve area and most recently designing and improving the playground facilities, by laying a child friendly barked area for climbing and exploring with quiet areas with tables and benches for relaxing or reading.
The Chapel Choir led Evensong at the Abbey to over 600 visitors every evening.
