Following this day, the students had a day off timetable and completed more tasks related to their A level choices for next year, as well as learning more about the leadership skills of themselves and their peers. All Year 11s completed a series of challenges, both individually and as groups, (see the photographs), and discovered that it was not always the loudest person who had the best ideas or who knew how to solve the problems!
It is important that every student has the chance to develop a range of personal skills as well as their academic ones, and this is one of the ways that the students can do this. As the students progress through Year 11 and into the Sixth Form there are more opportunities for this type of development and this has certainly helped many of our past students secure employment and university places of their choice. All the Abbey Gate College staff wish them well
