Upper School Ball
March 2010
The annual College Ball was held at the Queen Hotel, Chester for the 3rd year running and proved to be another tremendous success.
A formal sit down meal was enjoyed by all; included were a superb melon starter and chicken main course which was followed by the assiette of desserts with the college crest dusting.
This proved to be very popular, as demonstrated by the fact that several students took photographs of it! The magicians continued to amaze and bamboozle all those that witnessed their sleight of hand and the awards ceremony credited a range of student ‘achievements’ throughout the last 12 months. Given that it is his last year, the student committee decided that the ‘Most Accident Prone Student Award’ should be re-named the ‘Laurien Campbell Award’ in honour of the infamous Tic Tac incident.
Of course this year’s winner of the award was, as in the previous years, Laurien himself.
Following this, David Kelly, Matthew Heath and Blake Forrester entertained the students with some fantastic music and the students and staff then danced the night away to songs from the last few decades.
The College received a lovely email from the General Manager of the Queen Hotel complimenting the students on their excellent conduct and behaviour throughout the evening and we would like to extend our thanks to the hotel for making us feel so welcome once again.
And so on to next year….
The Chapel Choir led Evensong at the Abbey to over 600 visitors every evening.
