Chester Schoolboys Under 14s triumph in County Cup Final
Abbey Gate pupils Henry Smith and Otis Chamberlain (both from Year 9)
have both made significant contributions to the success of the Under 14 town football team. 15 matches played mainly on Saturday mornings have allowed both boys to compete against strong teams from Wirral, Sefton and Stockport amongst others.
At the end of April the team won a keenly contested Alcock cup final 3-2 at Middlewich FC with Henry Smith outstanding in attack; unfortunately Otis was injured the day before the game. It was the first time the town team had won the County trophy in eight years and both boys displayed outstanding commitment and a high level of talent to play at this level.
The boys were presented 2 weeks ago with their CSFA ties by the President of CSFA, the Duke of Westminster in our own theatre attended by over 100 people and now have winners medals to add to their collection.
The Chapel Choir led Evensong at the Abbey to over 600 visitors every evening.
Another successful Geography visit has returned from the Swiss Alps. Read more on the blog - www.agcoutandabout.blogspot.com
