They came 7th out of 16 teams in a closely fought and incredibly competitive competition. Fran Shaw just missed out on winning the whole competition with the fastest time recorded for the day but unluckily she knocked down the last pole! Equestrian – October 2010

Two recent events have proven to be successful for the Abbey Gate riders. 

Intermediate Class
Fleur Gardside, Ellie Baker, Emily Hopewell and Amy Cowper were 5th in the Team Competition.
(Amy and Dudley were 3rd in the Individual and Warm Up Rounds).

A successful day for Abbey Gate College’s Equestrian Team competing at the Inter Schools Show Jumping Competition at Southview Arena on Monday, 3rd May.

 

The Junior team were 2nd overall, just missing out on first place by 4 seconds in the jump off. The team members were: Rory Goodridge, (Juniors), Lucy Hopewell, (juniors),
Emily Hopewell, (seniors), and Abi Lee, (Seniors). Rory took individual 5th place in the warm up round.

The Senior team, comprising Helen Ford, Emily Hopewell, Abi Lee and Amy Cowper, came 6th out of 13 teams but unfortunately missed out on the ribbons. However, individual places of 4th and 5th went to Amy Cowper and Helen Ford.
