The charity chosen for this year is B.I.R.D. (Brain injury rehabilitation development). If anyone wishes to have a stall at the Fete, kindly contact Michele Ellis (07802 544435) for details.\n</p>\n<p>\nSummer Ball – Saturday 4th July – (Not as advertised on the cover of the recent ‘Broadsheet’)<br />\nThis year’s event, being on American Independence Day, will have an ‘Oscars’ theme. Full details, and arrangements for ticket purchase for this popular event, will be available in the spring. The Ball is open to parents, staff and their guests. Last year’s Ball raised over £3,600 for use by the College.\n</p>\n<p>\nRegarding the Ball, we are asking for your help to make the event a success, and maximize the profit made for the benefit of the College. We would like about dozen quality items to be donated as raffle prizes. In addition, we are looking for the donation of a couple of ‘special’ items for auctioning at the Ball for the College’s charity. The highlight of the social calendar is the annual Summer Ball and the Social Committee assists the College with its annual Charity Garden Fete.\n</p>\n<p>\nSecondly, it is the Committee’s aim to raise funds for use by the College for specific projects for the benefit of pupils. In the last year assistance has been given with the purchase of equipment for the new Design &amp; Technology Department, equipment for Outdoor Pursuits and also camcorders for the PE Department.\n</p>\n<p>\nAny parent is welcome to join the Committee; meetings are usually monthly, on a Tuesday evening, during term time. The Sports Hall was transformed for the evening by the installation of a marquee lining, and over £3,600 was raised towards the College.
